Which Dueys Are We?There have been several immigrants from Europe with the Duey surname (spelled variously) who entered America in the Colonial Period via several known ports of entry, from New England all the way around to the Louisiana Territory. Although we have reason to believe that most of them were possibly related by a common ancestry, this belief has not been sufficiently documented. Among these male immigrants was one John Conrad Duy (or Douey), born about 1689, in Kriegsfeld, Pfalz, Germany. He entered the Port of Philadelphia in 1740 with his second wife, Anna Maria Reisen (first wife was Anna Margretha Boehm), and family; by our count, four sons and two daughters. These are the ancestors of most of the Dueys who use the DueyHistory website. But our "web" has grown to include others who are also interested in Duey history. These various families are sharing their knowledge of research about their ancestors and family trees. For a more detailed account, see An Introduction to Duey History. Need more information?
